You Look Like You Need a Reason to Smile

This has been an incredibly difficult week for most sane, civilized people.  Here are three pics that we believe will accomplish two things:

1. Put a smile on your face

2. Remind you that what renews our faith in humanity is not our access to guns, having a strong military, or elected officials that really know what they are doing.  Civilization will survive and hopefully flourish because of simple, kind acts of compassion and human decency.

This is a photo of a firefighter in Denmark holding the cat he rescued from a burning building. You can tell by the cat’s face it was pretty traumatic, luckily there was a hero there to get him to safety.

Just today, the Torah reading definitively called upon the Jewish people to remember what they have been “chosen” to do.  I hope we and all of humanity have what takes to live up to that mission.
