The Hebrew word ruach has many meanings: wind, spirit, Divine presence. We are told that before creation, the Ruach Elokhim – the Spirit of God hovered above the abyss. Ruach is, was and will always be the tail wind of the Jewish people. It is the force has kept us afloat and keeps us pointed in the right direction; it’s the energy that inspires our personal and communal lives and in turn makes it possible for us to share God’s love, light and spirit with humanity. The Ruach Elokhim hovers over note of Jewish music.
