Pope Francis may be one of the kindest, most tolerant, thoughtful loving people on Earth. But you know what? Even with those credentials elevating him to a status most of us can only envy, he’s a human being who is entitled to respect. No one has the right to impose themselves on another person physically, spiritually, emotionally or intellectually.
What we see him do to a woman who apparently felt entitled to get his attention and affections is an important lesson in of itself.
- Don’t touch me without my permission
- The fact that you want my attention doesn’t mean you are entitled to it
- If you like and respect me as a person, why would you treat me like a personal attendant you can command at will?
