I must admit that I’m not there yet.  I wish I could be vegan. But I am on my way. I’ve given up red meat.  I hope to someday have the moral and ethical courage to give up poultry and fish.  But until then, I will acknowledge that HaShem’s (God’s) original plan was for humanity to sustain itself by only consuming the wide variety of fruits and vegetables found in the beautiful garden that is our world.  “Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed–to you it shall be for food.” (Breshit 1:29)
