I’m ashamed to say that hiding behind the lie that even African-Americans, Latinos and other non-white minorities like the program because it makes their neighborhoods safer, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Ray Kelley of my hometown, NYC, have made life insufferable in that great city for non-white young men with their notorious, Stop and Frisk program. Asking members of a minority group to sacrifice a bit more than anyone else is an incredibly sinister, convoluted expression of racism. Can you imagine any municipal government in this country ordering their police to stop and frisk young white men because of an outbreak in crime attributed to white criminals? Bloomberg and Kelley are either liars or fools.
