You have to love what passes for Halloween humor in places like Hyndman, PA. If this picture doesn’t depress you consider this, these people probably go to church on Sunday and they vote.
What rhetoric could conservative reactionaries and Fox Noise throw at progressive liberals if they could not verbally assault liberals for not being more sophisticated and less judgmental than themselves?
It was no way right or even human to do this but that gives you no right to talk badly about that town. Well actually my town! We are not white trash and I think it is very rude of you to classify all of us in that category. You may judge that sin higher than yours right now judging my town but God sees all sin equally and the day of judgement both their sins and yours for judging them will be judged equally by God.
1. People who sign their commentary “Anonymous” are not exactly what I would call proud, courageous advocates of nonjudgmental verbiage.
2. I did NOT suggest that every person in Hyndman, PA were “white trash,” only those who thought it was acceptable and humorous to dress up as Klansman trying to lynch the President of the United States.
3. Your way-over-the top emotional response suggests that you and hopefully many others in Hyndman are terribly embarrassed by the negative national publicity this incident has given your community. Using God as a shield so you can attack those of us have re-published the photo suggests that you would sooner give these pathetic, simple human beings in the picture a “pass” for what they did and blame the rest of the world for noticing. No crime is committed if no one notices? How convoluted of you to suggest that calling attention to these jokers is some how contrary to the will of God. God wants you and I to fix what’s wrong with the world, not turn away.
4. You and the other good folks of Hyndman who are ashamed of what happened would be better served by redirecting your shame and anger where it belongs: against all the bigots in your community who apparently don’t have any shame about their prejudices and don’t have a clue as to what constitutes humor. In other words, dumb-ass rednecks who act like dumb ass rednecks are always going to be viewed as such.
This is primarily directed at Mr. Gilbert here who thinks he is on a high horse. Not saying that I am. I forgot where the bible said you can judge anyone? Maybe i missed that verse. Please tell me where i can find it. Also, take into consideration this was a joke for Halloween. None the less, I grew up next door to this town in Bedford, PA. I am neither ashamed or proud of that. One thing I am proud of is knowing that i grew up in a christian home and area. I was deployed overseas in Iraq when our president was inagurated. Did I get to vote? No, I did not. I got my absentee ballot two months after he was president. How do you think veterans feel about having this be our president? I have seen numerous pictures like this one. What makes this one different? Please I would love to hear your reasoning behind as to why you are the genius of other peoples point of views. I will be sure to let my brothers that died over seas know that Mr. Mitchell Gilbert said it’s okay because our president definitely had our back. I’m laughing inside right now knowing that he does not even care about us or our families. Why else would he cut our pay and then not even care about the government shutting down due to his own program offending the majority of our country. Oh wait I mean his country? So please Mr. Gilbert inform me on your infinite wisdom that you have aquired from the internet. Obviously people who believe in god are nothing to you? Most of these people have also probably only ever met one or two non white people before and that was because they were the only ones in town who went to the same high school. None of them would even know what to do if a black person came up to them and said “Hi” they would probably just shit themselves. (sorry if the language wasn’t to your liking)
