NY Jets quarterback Tim Tebow was scheduled to speak at Sunday morning services on April 28 on the pulpit of God’s primary messenger on Earth, the always right and extremely holier than thou, Pastor Robert Jeffress, First Baptist Dallas church. The profoundly religious football player has been described by the New York Times as a “cross-cultural phenomenon, a preacher in a football player’s body.”
Not too many people were surprised that Tebow accepted the invitation to speak at such a noteworthy evangelical church which enjoys a membership of well over a 11,000 and a senior pastor who is quite sure that he not only has God’s blessings but permission to pass judgment on just about anyone and anything he doesn’t like.
As part of his ministry and calling to speak on behalf the Universal God of all people, Pastor Jeffress has had the courage to point out some incredibly political incorrect ideas in his capacity as God’s Dallas based prophet to humanity:
- Islam and Mormonism are heretical religions “from the pit of hell”
- Jews are destined to go to hell
- President Barack Obama’s re-election will “lead to the rise of the Antichrist
- 70 percent of the gay population” has AIDS
- Most gay people are pedophiles
In elaborating on his highly keen, sophisticated understanding of human sexuality, Jeffress has also noted that:
“There are a disproportionate amount of assaults against children by homosexuals than by heterosexuals, you can’t deny that, and the reason is very clear: homosexuality is perverse, it represents a degradation of a person’s mind and if a person will sink that low and there are no restraints from God’s law, then there is no telling to whatever sins he will commit as well.”
Tim Tebow surprised lots of people last week when he announced that he was pulling out of his commitment to share his love for Jesus from the same microphones that Jeffress’ uses to extol the virtues of hate and ill-informed ideas in the name of you know who. In making his announcement, Tebow told his fans:
“While I was looking forward to sharing a message of hope and Christ’s unconditional love with the faithful members of the historic … First Baptist Church of Dallas in April, due to new information that has been brought to my attention, I have decided to cancel my … upcoming appearance. I will continue to use the platform God has blessed me with to bring Faith, Hope and Love to all those … needing a brighter day. Thank you for all of your love and support. God Bless!”
Pastor Robert Jeffress has not only the right but the responsibility to tell the world about his monopoly on truth. And for Christ’s sake, when Prophet Jeffress promotes intolerance for people who don’t share his beliefs, values or lifestyle, IT’S ONLY OUT OF LOVE FOR THEM….. YOU MORON!!
