I’ve intentionally lost track of how many people have accused me of being a hot head who gets too excited, too passionate, too over the top in expressing exasperation with those with whom I have political differences. (Especially since President Obama was elected to the highest office in the land and his politics have been compared to the worst scoundrels of history in a poorly masked effort to suggest that a liberal intellectual of color should not be in control of the WHITE man’s House.)
If you think my adjectives about conservatives in general and Republicans in particular have been condescending and inappropriate, (or, as one local tea-party clergyman likes to say ad-nauseum about any idea that challenges his point of view, “your comments are ad hominem,”) consider Garrison Keillor’s take on Republicans.
BTW, having never been a big fan of Prairie Home Companion, I never considered myself a Garrison Keillor fan. Having now learned of his true feelings towards the GOP, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for President Garrison Keillor fan club. I hope I can count on your support.
