When you put your emotional guard down, when you put prejudices and tribal loyalties aside and allow your neshoma, your heart, your humanity to stare inhumanity in the face, what do you feel?

What do you see in this picture?

Is this child a violent terrorist? Collateral damage? Or, an innocent human being who did not deserve to die? And no, the 1200 Israelis that Hamas brutally murdered didn’t deserve to die either. What’s the difference? Some of us expected more from the acclaimed most moral army in the world that describes itself as a defense force of the only democracy in the Middle East.
When unarmed Palestinians are attacked daily without any recrimination from the Israeli government, it’s hard to believe that the 65,000 Palestinian deaths in Gaza were unavoidable.
