For elected members of a national parliament to survive, they had better be quick thinkers who always have pertinent facts in their head, not simply in the speech a member of their staff prepared. If you’ve ever watched the weekly “Question time” in the British Parliament, you too may have come to the conclusion that the USA has had more than a few President’s let alone members of congress who couldn’t handle such kinds of intelligent debates.
And who is better at sarcasm and humor than a sharp orators who know how to deliver a snide or sarcastic retort? Follow the debates and discussions that take place in the national parliament’s the world over, you won’t find too many dumb sh*t kickers talking about “real rape” or why the government they are responsible for managing, the government that pays their salary, is inherently evil or why it incumbent that every citizen have access military grade weapons.
Mediaite.com reported yesterday on a “discussion” on zombie-invasion preparedness that took place earlier this week in the Canadian Parliament:
So… this happened. On Wednesday, members of Canadian Parliament “debated” the country’s preparedness for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.
“I rise today to salute… the province of Quebec for putting in emergency measures to deal with the possibility of an invasion of zombies. I don’t need to tell you, Mr. Speaker, that zombies don’t don’t recognize borders and that a zombie invasion in the United States can easily turn into a continent-wide pandemic if it’s not contained. So on behalf of concerned Canadians everywhere, Mr. Speaker, I want to ask the Minister of Foreign Affairs: Is he working with his American counterparts to develop an international zombie strategy so that a zombie invasion does not turn into a zombie apocalypse?”
